Goals and Objectives

The goals and objectives of Nonprofit Week are:

• To focus attention on and report about the nonprofit sector’s indispensable contributions as the “third sector” (i.e. business, government and nonprofits) in creating community well-being.
• To acknowledge Sacramento’s community leadership in corporate giving.
• To profile Sacramento’s community leadership in nonprofits, encouraging others to connect and engage in civic leadership, volunteering, and financial support.
• To celebrate the “nonprofit story” and help nonprofits to tell and celebrate their own stories.
• To create and encourage community conversation and dialogue about challenges facing Sacramento’s community service sector and the future of nonprofits.
• To develop strategic communications linkages for an ongoing annual nonprofit spotlight event.
