First 5 Sacramento Project
August 2009 - June 2011
In 2009 the Nonprofit Resource Center was awarded a grant to provide organizational capacity building support to selected First 5 Sacramento grantees and potential grantees.
Services provided to organizations participating in this project consisted of an assessment of nine organizational dimensions followed by coaching, training and technical assistance. The purpose of this grant program was to improve the infrastructure of these organizations so that they could improve their capacity to continue to provide service programs for children in Sacramento County.
Over the grant period, twelve organizations participated in the First 5 Sacramento Capacity Building Project. These included eight (8) community-based organizations, two (2) health centers, and two (2) school district programs. The model consisted of three components: an organizational assessment, planning, and implementation support (which consisted of training, technical assistance and coaching).
