Encore Fellows Program
Encore Fellows Sac/Sierra Program
Fellowship matches experienced professionals with appropriate nonprofit organizations
Civic Ventures has approved a new partnership between the American Leadership Forum – Mountain Valley Chapter and the Nonprofit Resource Center to bring the Encore Fellows Program to the Sacramento and Sierra regions.
Across the region there is a pressing need to help build capacity in the nonprofit sector. While most of the nonprofit services are a necessity and provide ongoing support in the region’s local communities, nonprofit organizations are challenged with insufficient resources to maintain or build their agencies. By operating an Encore Fellows Program in the region, the American Leadership Forum and the Nonprofit Resource Center will enable these nonprofits to grow and sustain their organizations through Fellow’s high-impact social-purpose roles.

Website Development Project
Website Development Project for organizations serving the South Sacramento area
with St. Hope Academy/Sacramento High, funded by AT&T
The Nonprofit Resource Center has received a generous grant from AT&T to help ten South Sacramento nonprofit organizations create or develop their websites as a way to expand organizational capacity to communicate with the community and constituencies.
The purpose of the project is to assist and fund organizations in the development of usable, editable websites, while presenting students with learning opportunities. Participating organizations will receive consulting and technical expertise from student teams supported by the highly qualified faculty of Sacramento High School.

First 5 Sacramento Project
August 2009 - June 2011
In 2009 the Nonprofit Resource Center was awarded a grant to provide organizational capacity building support to selected First 5 Sacramento grantees and potential grantees.
Services provided to organizations participating in this project consisted of an assessment of nine organizational dimensions followed by coaching, training and technical assistance. The purpose of this grant program was to improve the infrastructure of these organizations so that they could improve their capacity to continue to provide service programs for children in Sacramento County.
Over the grant period, twelve organizations participated in the First 5 Sacramento Capacity Building Project. These included eight (8) community-based organizations, two (2) health centers, and two (2) school district programs. The model consisted of three components: an organizational assessment, planning, and implementation support (which consisted of training, technical assistance and coaching).
